Event Summary:
Join us on the opening day of hunting season for The CCMH Foundation Buck & Doe 5K. The Buck & Doe 5K offers a diverse course that will include cityscapes and country views. Wildlife spotting is a bonus. All surfaces are paved but there are uneven spots during the course and some modest inclines. All proceeds benefit the Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Event Details:

Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation is sponsoring a fundraising 5K Walk/Run. This event will be held Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 AM beginning at the hospital parking lot. Participants will enjoy a course that will include the hospital campus, walking trail including newly established portion joining the hospital campus and school campus. “This event is a community event that demonstrates the hospitals commitment to wellness” Jeff Tindle, Chief Executive Officer stated. “This event not only highlights the newly formed CCMH Foundation to the community, but prominently displays our belief in the core values of this facility…Dedication to our Community and Partnerships that deliver comprehensive services.” 

Event organizers are excited to offer both a walking event and a timed 5K course. Participants can register at The early registration fee (offered through November 9th) $25 entry fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments. After November 9th the registration fee will be $30.  Medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each category. Event organizer and Chief Operating Officer, Shannon Jordan, notes “the categories are broken out by age: The 5K race starts with 12 and under, 13-24, 25-40, 41-60, 61+. For the walking event there are 3 categories under 24, 25-49 and 50+. We are looking to have a fun event for all ages and ability levels to enjoy not just the event but the community and all it has to offer.”

All proceeds from the event will go to the newly formed Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation. The Foundation is responsible for charitable and educational purposes specifically for the benefit of the Carroll County Memorial Hospital, including establishing and managing scholarship funds, specific project and equipment donations. The Foundation was formed in March of this year when it elected its first President, Arlene Heins, Vice President Ray Sweeny, Secretary Dr. Judith Delaney and Treasurer Jim Famuliner.
